Zenshuji Obon Carnival
I had a great time at this year’s Zenshuji Obon carnival over the weekend. I hope everyone there had a good time as well and ate some good food.
I think I ate all day because I almost everything that was available to eat. Thanks to everyone for coming supporting our Temple and just hanging out with us. It’s always nice to see new and old friends. I think our show went great. Thanks to the Super Ninja Bros for playing with us its cool to see a huge line of drums on stage. I think the percussions just overpowered everyone on stage. Who needs a mic when you have 10 drums lined up on stage right? It pretty fun to play at our obon, its just a really chill environment where you don’t have to worry about rushing to get on stage and clear and worrying about the set time. It’s really relaxed like ZEN lol.
Summer is the time when a lot of events in the Japanese Community happen. Events like Nisei week, where you have parades and street fairs all over Little Tokyo happen almost every weekend. Now that I don’t go to school anymore these things are the only thing that reminds me that it’s really summer. I hope everyone comes to more events around Little Tokyo. Who knows how long it’ll last but for sure it’s something you want to experience at least once.
