Austin rocks!
Hey everyone!
Last weekend was a blast! Random Ninjas rocked out in Austin-Texas playing 5 shows in 3 days. The Friday show in particular was crazy ’cause we played at 5pm, 7pm, then at 9pm.
I could go on and on about how fun each show was, but I would rather focus on what went on behind the scenes.
NINJA BALLZ 3!

No Sleep ‘Til Austin!

It's a bird, no, it's a plane, no, it's.. it's.. Peelander-Z (pink?) on my back! Uh, you can get off now... (photo taken by Lyn, SXSW 2009)
Oi everyone.
These past few weeks have been crazy for me (and it’s going to get crazier.. in a good way….). I am faking calm/cool so well to warrant an Oscar nomination. Don’t worry, I will not go into detail and whine uselessly because I am looking forward to the red-eye flight, heat, different sights, sounds (and smells), flyer-littered 6th Street, and crowds in downtown Austin, Texas!
We are attacking Austin this Thursday night all the way through Saturday!
Battle begins at Hot Topic in Highland Mall at 6PM on Thursday, and all the way to the ReThinkPopMusic and TwoGroove showcase at the Chupacabra on 6th Street on Saturday!
We are plugging in this time sans Soozanna’s pyro-stunts(!).
To all you resident, traveling, or long-distance-friend ninjas, we hope you join us on our 2nd out-of-state show.
I’m sure we’ll have less sleep while in Austin.

Pyrotechnics with the Random Ninjas!

So if any of you were at the show on Friday, you may remember the boom and flying sparks shortly before RN took the stage. I did it. All me. I was plugging in my wireless box for my Audix and boom! It burnt the plug. We had our very own pyrotechnics! Does having your own pyrotechnics, whether intentional or not, mean you’re big time?
I am still recovering from my “near death experience” by sorting through old photos to see which one makes my hair look the most electrocuted. I found the one above. The electrocuted hair look was in when that photo was taken….well that and perms. Will the electrocuted hair look come back in like legwarmers and spandex or is that a trend better left untouched?
Thanks to everyone for coming out to our very first RN pyrotechnics show and my first “Bedtime Stories with Snoozanna” show. While I have performed piano solos at other RN shows, this was the first spoken word extravaganza and I very much appreciate your support.
And thanks especially to those who donated for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! Every penny helps!
