The Yusuke Blog

Hey Ninjas what is going on? I hope everyone is doing well.  I just wanted to share with you guys what I’ve been up to since the last time I wrote to you guys. In actuality I don’t think I really haven’t done anything interesting since the last time LOL.

My life lately has been pretty uneventful, aside from playing in Random Ninjas. I guess one thing I did lately that was new to me was going to Jury Duty. At first when I got called in I thought this was gonna suck. But, I actually enjoyed my time serving for the city.   I guess I was lucky that I had a pretty interesting case. Plus I got to walk a few blocks down to J-town for my lunches.  And I still got paid from work so in a way it felt like a two week vacation.

I’m not really the type of person that likes to watch dramas on tv. Its really hard for me to  follow a long series like Lost or Heroes. But there is one series that has got me hooked from the beginning. And that show is Dexter. I just finished watching the second season and I have to say this show is pretty awesome.  I just think its fun to watch a serial killer who has some what of a conscience when it comes to killing people.  I’ve been told the other seasons are way better and crazier so I can’t wait to start watching those.

Full Metal Fun Introspective

February 19, 2010 · Posted in random blog · Comment

Hey everyone!

Full Metal Ninja here.  Wow! Las Vegas was a blast!  Met some cool new people, ate at great places, and I actually won $124 from the slot machines!  Those winnings paid for my buffet! lol

The trip took a lot of work for the band, but it was definitely fun.

On a random note, lately I’ve been getting a lot of questions about having fun or what fun entails.  Fun is definitely subjective, but for me, fun is rocking out.

But just like any type of fun, it does require work.   While some fun requires little effort, others require more.

To have fun in a band, the band and it’s business have to work first.

For the most part, it takes blood, sweat and tears, and even losing some of your peers to make it work.

So in this quest for awesome fun, my band mates and I became more than just musicians.

As for me, I became all of the following below: (Outside of playing guitar and producing)

“TV party tonight.. we’re gonna have a TV party tonight (ALL RIGHT!)…”   -  Black Flag

Monday Monday…  One thing I look forward to every Monday evening is the Fox television series, House.  For those of you who don’t watch local TV, it’s a show about a brilliant but obnoxious doctor, Gregory House, who along with an interesting team of young doctors, manages to solve various complicated cases.  It’s a hooky mix of medical problem-solving, and character intra/interaction.

If you want to get into the series, I suggest you rent (or Netflix) all past seasons.  The show is on its 6th season.

I also watch Heroes on NBC.  Since both shows share the same timeslot, I just watch Heroes online.  The episodes are readily available on nbc.com – which reminds me, I’m not up to date with my viewing (hehe).

So why did I choose to watch House on TV over Heroes?  Simply because Fox.com doesn’t upload their episodes until about a week and a half later.  NBC is up to speed with their uploads (weeee!).

Speaking of uploads, I have yet to catch up on my Naruto Shippuuden viewing and reading….  Gah, but I have to work on something too so… hmmm.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog Day!

Punxsatawney Phil did not see his shadow today, so people in parts of the country who actually experience winter have to suffer through a few more weeks.  Apparently this winter has been especially brutal.  My east coasts roots (i.e. parents and siblings) report the weather to me every time I talk to them, and I always snicker when I tell them what the temperature is in Southern California.  In Florida they even had frost this winter!?  In Cologne, Germany, they’ve had snowy weather for a few weeks which is unheard of in the Rhine valley.  Normally if it even snows there, it melts within 5 hours.

So everyone is buried in snow or freezing and in Southern California it’s 61 degrees Fahrenheit, which sadly enough is cold enough that I get out my sweater and scarf.  I guess I’ve assimilated?

In honor of Groundhog Day, I am hoping to record a side project this week called Die Schwester, aptly titled in German to reflect that the side project will include me and my sister.  As my sister sings and plays a bazillion instruments, we’re going to record some catchy covers utilizing piano, drums, saxophone, flute and/or oboe and my personal favorite: the accordion.  The accordion is about as underestimated as Punxsatawney Phil and equally capable of influencing season changes, blockbuster movies and small towns in Pennsylvania!

Kind Regards,
Soo
