Leberwurst!
Shocking: Getting in a plane with 60-70 degree weather, getting off the plane in 5 degree weather including snow and wind. I got to Berlin a week and a half ago, freezing, not prepared for 5 degrees Fahrenheit. I had to double up my socks, wear multiple sweaters and my toes were still freezing through the grossly inappropriate Converse (Converse = not made for Berlin weather).
Berlin was cool though. I spent most of the time in coffee shops, saw a Thomas Demand exhibit at Das Neue Nationalgalerie and ate at some cool restaurants mostly in Kreuzberg.
By the time we got to Schwerin, it was warmer, but we still had a white Christmas. We did some touristy type stuff in Schwerin – we visited the art gallery there and had a private tour of the Schweriner Schloss (Schwerin Castle). I played a lot of mahjong and ate Leberwurst, Teewurst and cheese non-stop.
Now I’m in Kölle seeing lots of old friends. A lot has changed. There are new stores everywhere, lots of American chains have invaded, everything seems to be under construction. One thing is for sure, it rains NON-STOP and I miss palm trees and sunshine. Another four days!

The Yusuke Blog # 3

Hello everyone this is Yusuke once again. I just wanted to have a small recap of our show last week. Last Friday was the first time RN has played at the Glasshouse and I was pretty surprised to see how big the place was. The floor was big enough to have a skating rink there and the stage had a lot of space. It’s funny, most of our shows the stage barely fits all five of us but the stage at the Glasshouse could fit us and probably another 5. I don’t think it’s something to get used to since our next show will be at 2nd St Jazz January 30th. We’re going from a stage that really big to a stage that can barely fit 3 of us on there.
After the show a couple of our SST members asked me to reflect on 2009. I really couldn’t answer because 1. I was really tired and just couldn’t think or 2. Im getting old and just can’t remember anything anymore or 3. A combination of both. Anyways I had a chance to reflect and I think 2009 had a lot of great things happening for us. A lot of the success we had was because of all the fans and friends like our Jan Sport Contest which we couldn’t do without all you guys. This year was the first time we ever did a acoustic show which was surprisingly very fun to do even though my hand was hurting for a week after the show. I think 2009 was a very positive and productive year for us, not sure what 2010 will bring to RN but I hope all you will be along for the ride. I hope every one has a safe holiday and New Year.
See you guys in January.

Video Games make Full Metal Ninja, a happy ninja
This past week, I’ve been putting up show posters and what not. Just doing my thing. Promote as much as I can.
After a long day at work, traveling around to promote the band, and then coming home and playing video games makes this ninja, a happy ninja.
Yes, video games. I play video games. Probably not as much as hardcore gamers, but I still play a lot more than a casual gamer.
I’m currently randomly cycling through Dragon Age, Ratchet and Clank, Tekken 6, and Mini-ninjas.
I just beat Brutal Legend. I love that game. I know a lot of people hated it, but I guess I’m the target audience for that game hahha…
I’m also waiting for Yusuke to get tired of Modern Warfare 2 so I can borrow it hehhe…
Basically, I play almost all types of genres. Kinda like how I play my guitar in Random Ninjas, all types of genres.
Anyway, I’m going to play video games now.
Hopefully I see some of you at the Glass House show this Friday @ 7:30pm!
Random Ninjas reviewed in MuzikReviews.com
“Singer Soozana is a jewel in Random Ninjas crown, being able to convey both fragile beauty and punk rock angst with aggressive growls. Her fellow ninjas use their instrumental expertise to surround her formidable range with a rapid intensity which should make for some explosive live performances.”
